Russia Today interviews M-1 of dead prez

“You can’t fool all the people all of the time, but if you fool the right ones, then the rest will fall behind,” says Rapper M-1 in his song Propaganda.

Corporate ownership of the US media is the topic frequently touched upon in rapper M-1’s lyrics. American rapper M-1 (Mutulu Olugbala), from underground political hip-hop duo Dead Prez, does not believe in a free and non-biased media in his home country.

Take to the streets.

Verbal Warnin’ // Downpresser Man

Verbal Warnin’ are an amazing local reggae band that played The Rick Simpson Concert, which I worked on organizing for two months with my two house mates.

When they played Downpressor Man I was feeling so good because the event that I had worked on for so long was almost over and I had nothing to do but get the most high and dance to one of my favourite songs! :)

Arguably the most provocative band of the last 20 years, Rage Against the Machine have since their explosive debut, been the group most associated with the American protest movement. This film dissects the work and career of Rage Against the Machine and looks at their place in this always fascinating lineage of artists and performers who have spoken out on behalf of, and drawn attention to, the world’s marginalized, downtrodden and oppressed. Picking up the flame from a linear musical tradition going back to the War Of Independence, with the best known protagonists coming up during the 1950s and 60s civil rights movement via artists such as Pete Segar and the young Bob Dylan, the anger remained as brutal as ever during the final decade of the 20th Century in Rage and contemporaries like Public Enemy.

FEATURING: Brand new interviews with; renowned Rage producer and engineer, Garth Richardson; Rage Against the Machine Biographer, Colin Devenish; the band’s live sound engineer, Dave ‘Rat’ Levine and the man who signed them Michael Goldstone. With further contributions from folk-protest singer and author Jerry Silverman, ex-‘Rolling Stone’ editor Joe Levy, and Professor of American Studies and English at Washington State University, T.V. Reed.

Bob Marley & The Wailers // War

All of Bob Marley’s music laid out a revolutionary path so clearly and truthfully.  I attribute a lot of the lift in conscientious that we are seeing happening this year to his music.

“That until that day
The dream of lasting peace,
World citizenship
Rule of international morality
Will remain in but a fleeting illusion to be pursued,
But never attained
Now everywhere is war - war..”

ZEITGEIST: MOVING FORWARD (full version)

I hope everyone in the world watch’s this documentary.

I am ready for the beauty of what this world can create.

This is the third Zeitgeist film by Peter Joseph. It dropped yesterday and I watched it while doing my hair. I love the intro story. My word, all day I was side eyeing the Monopoly on playstation. Ha. If you watch it you’ll get me. This one might be my favorite. This one isn’t so much of a exposing “the system”, as much as it is stating the obvious and informing. I fucks with Peter Joseph.

You could click the Zeitgeist tag on my page to see the other videos or you could not be a lazy ass and google them.

Over 3.5 million people have watched this incredible documentary in the past month, and that is just the youtube views.  People are waking up, and it feels good.

The Revolution has begun..

Immortal Technique // Speak Your Mind

I used to think I knew what tech was talking about, I felt it but now I understand.  This man is a light being that you should open your ear to.  Everything Technique references is something would be smart to teach yourself about.  The amount of knowledge this man drops in one song is mind blowing.

“Every time I speak my mind I’m lyrically critical
The pinnacle of being revolutionarily pivotal
Beyond anything ever studied thats metaphysical
Man fuck a minority, I’m not politically minimal
But obviously terminologies that are statistical
Are manufactured to be unequivocally subliminal
Transmitted by monopolized media visuals”
